upgrading the front brakes on the treppie

ANyone know what brake calipers fit on the intrepid?

I was looking into some brembo srt8 calipers, they are pretty decently priced now.

If the mounting holes match up, would the brakes of the trep (master cylinder) be strong enough to power bigger brakes?

Anyone tried swapping them? Im also thinking there may be some issues with the rims. Anyways our brakes suck so anything would be better.

Any experts out there? Im just bored.

ive been playing around with the g35 brembo upgrades, so ill have some stock g35 brakes.

But it looks like an entirely different hub. Prob not possible :( even if the master cylinder r piston is strong enough. I dont have abs on the intrepid so flushing would be easy.

Cuz afterall our brakes suck the big one.

even the base g35 calipers are twin cylinder.

im gonna measure it up and see if it will fit. But i still wanna know if the pump in the car can power the twin piston calipers.

Any input?

I'm doing a C5 Corvette swap on to my '88 IROC-Z and all it requires is a bracket to move the caliper up and out the correct distances. No idea what kind of work it would take to swap in a set of SRT brakes on our cars, but no doubt it would take some detailed measurements and a lot of time. Really, all you would need is a caliper and rotor from one side to figure out if it would be possible. I wonder if my mechanic could find track something down. Either that or post on an SRT forum for a used/warped rotor and see what's out there. This is an upgrade that i would really be interested in!
