Damn Air Restrictor!

i have a first gen 3.3l and im trying to get it out of there but the damn thing wont come out!

Am i doing something wrong?

Why not just break it and pull out the pieces? I really dont think you will have any reason to put it back in again

Ok this may be a total waste of time. If the intake tube is the same as the 3.5 this will work just fine


If it is the same as the 3.5 there is a rounded end and conical end. Compress the tube as much as you can and take a flathead screwdriver and jam it in between the tube and the restrictor. and pry towards you. It will seem to slip out but rotate the tube 180 degrees and use the screwdriver the same way. Repeat this until the restrictor is removed.

i got a 95 with the 3.3. i took the acording tube off from the air box and the throttle body. took some needle noose pliers and grabbed one of the 3 tabs holding it twist untill it snapped. repat for the other 2. turned the tube around and didi the same thing to completly break the taps. grabbed a compressor with a air nozzle and sprayed all if any debri out

i didnt gain no performance, gas milage is the same, and no throaty sound but my exhaust might be a little loud
