What to avoid? The 2.7L engine, like the plague.

Buy a 3.5L ES, SXT, or R/T. Lower than 100,000km, and nicely equipped you should get one for under $5,000CAD, $7500 from a dealer.

The 2.7 is hit and miss.. I wouldn't say to avoid it like the plague, as my 2.7 has almost 130,000 miles and so far so good. Anyways, the options you should/might be looking for don't really exist in intrepids with the 2.7 engine. Unless, that is, you are looking for a bone stock car lol. Hey why am I dissing the SE's when thats what I have? Represent SE!!!!

I recommend an 01-02 ES/R/T or an 04 SXT

04 ESs are nice too! ( I bought 2 of them )

Options vary hugely on the 2nd gens...I've seen SEs with full leather, sunroof and everything else, as well as seeing R/Ts with nothing but the high-output engine. I don't think models really have anything to do with the options available.

Decide on what options you want, then find them....recommend a 3.5 or better though. 2.7s have their place....mine was a good one, but you just never know with them.

Haha don't be a traitor! 2.7s are good. Haha we are going to be like the kids in high school who always get beaten up for saying nerdy things.

Anyways 2.7s are golod depending on who owned it, 3.2 or 3.5 is more or less a sure thing though.
