Approaching 100,000kms

Hey all,

My 2001 ES 3.2L Intrepid is approaching 100,000kms. I would appreciate some input as to what sort of maintenance I should be thinking about as this milestone approaches. I just had the brake lines replaced about a month ago with all new pads and rotors, so, those should be in excellent shape. However, I'm wondering about various other essential components that could be in need of replacing at this point.

I am fairly ignorant when it comes to just about anything related to vehicles, so, I apologize if this is a silly question. However, I've had a timing chain go on my 1998 Plymouth Breeze before that put an end to that vehicle and I was involved in a serious car accident earlier this year in my 2000 Sunfire that destroyed that one. I've also had a lot of shady garages and mechanics tell me I needed more extensive repair work when I didn't, so, as you might suspect, I am very nervous when it comes to anything related to car maintenance now.

So, as winter approaches and 100,000kms is just around the corner, I'd like to keep things stress free and the Intrepid I have now in good upkeep.

Comment is invited. Thanks!

Timing belt/ water pump, if not done yet, overdue.
7 years 100,000 miles service interval. (63000k)
Plugs, PVC, Fresh coolant (HOAT only)
3.2 & 3.5 use a timing belt, failure to change will result in bent valves.

Garage
main thing is going to be the timing belt/WP. you're due on the time limit even if you haven't hit the miles yet.

Fair enough, the timing belt/water pump shall be replaced. Thing is, I also need new tires for the winter. Both of these things are pricey Which should I do first... can I afford to delay the timing belt replacement or does it take precedence? I'm currently at 99,500kms. What's the absolute maximum I can push it to?

I did the old penny test on the tires and Lincoln's head is still covered, but not by too much. Perhaps I should get those first?

you are already past it in time. this is not a mileage only thing.
if your tires will carry you for a bit, belt should take precedence. else you won't have a running car to put tires on.
