Well......since you just replaced the thermostat.
When you installed it, did you put it in the right way?(sounds stupid but some can be put in the wrong way)
Was the coolant low?
If so you might wanna check all the places where it could be leaking, (clamps,seals).
Go step by step and dont jump around looking for the problem. Whats the water pump doing to make you think the bearings are going? is it making high pitched screams?\
AND was it over heating before the thermostat replacement? if not it might be an air bubble. An air bubble would also make it so the water pump would make noises too. An air bubble could also be created when your coolant gets too low over time and it sucks air back into the radiator as the coolant cools down
