removing a 300M plenum

I would need a couple of precisions to remove a 300M plenum:

1. How do you remove the air intake box fastener shown in the attached picture? It is not a bolt and it seems to require some force to get out . Since the whole thing is plastic I dont want to damage anything. I need to remove this to get a clear access.

2. I feel 3 clips for the ECR connections in the back of the plenum. 2 on the top each side one big one in the middle. Where is the 4th clip mentioned?

3. The manual says to remove the accelerator cable. There are 2. It makes sense to remove the 2nd cable for the cruise control since it is attached to the same part although the manual says nothing about it.

I'll appreciate any help

You take a flat blade screwdriver, and pry it up. Or spray some PB Blaster on it, and let it soak...and pull it up!!

the EGR tubes have only 2 clips...those are the only clips I am familiar with.

Dont forget the one bolt on the rear of the plenum, that one stumped me for awhile the 1st time I pulled my plenum off

Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it. With your help I got the plenum out in no time. Just that the fitting was tight and was fighting. My knuckles got hit.. Not too bad. Yes they were only 2 clips. I was feeling another that was not attached to the plenum.
But what in hell is the goo that I got all over my garage floor coming out of it? Looks like dirty reddish oil. There was quite a bit of it. Is this normal?

Now I am attempting to remove the valve cover of the passenger side. That is the one I have an oily plug

I am having 4 sets of questions:

1. The manual says detach the AC compressor and move it to the right. I spotted 2 bolts as indicated in the picture. Are these to be completely removed? Then there is the belt retaining the AC compressor. No mention of that. Should I loosen the nut as indicated on the pict and remove the belt? I just want to make sure. This is my 1st job on a 300M.

2. The valve cover is in a tight spot and will have to be removed around the harness. The only way I see is to disconnect the injectors wire and move it out as indicated on the pict. Am I on the right track?

3. I will have to order the gaskets. It seems that I will need a plenum gasket, a valve cover gasket kit with plug sealers and may be the 8 valve cover grommets, right?

4 Given the crap coming out the plenum should I remove and clean the throttle body or can I just clean the plenum without removing the throttle body? That would be yet another gasket to order?

I can't answer any but number 4 and that would be a yes. My throttle body was really nasty when I got it out. Cleaning it will supposedly smooth out your idle some. And I believe it's normal for oil to come out of the upper plenum but I'm not sure about your red stuff.:icon_conf
