Question 2 questions please help asap stranded

one what would be an average price for the switch from 2.7 to 3.5 in a 1999 trep

to does the engine come out the hood or out the bottom

had a quote of 600.00 when my engine came in it was changed to 1200.00

because it had to be dropped out the bottom does this sound right and if i get someone else to do it he wants a hundred bucks just for getting my engine off the truck

If you are just taking the engine out, then it comes out from the top. If you want the whole suspension removed and switched with a 3.5 suspension(from the car your getting it from,) then it will come out through the bottom.

Price- I am not sure. I have heard people say a few thousand.

$2700 is what I charge for a complete swap 2.7-3.2/5. Thats parts, labor, everything -- most of that is parts and engine. The price can vary depending on what the going rate for engines is at the moment. I charge $550 for the complete swap if someone brings all the parts and the engine.

Engine can come out from the top or the bottom -- its actually easier to drop the whole frame and drivetrain assembly out of the bottom-- but if you dont have a lift, then it has to come out of the top.

$100 just to get the engine off of the truck? Sounds like a con-artist.
