Yeah its my idea now listen right quick. Take the Dodge Intrepid ES first gen body put a 2nd gen 3.5L HO in it twin turbo charge it and put a Sport tuned high performance suspension on it, Put on carbon fiber doors, a carbon fiber hood, quarter pannels, and trunk lid. High performance tires on a viper rim, An all wheel drive transmission and PRESTO the Dodge Intrepid ESS (Euro Super Sport!)

instead of buying a high performance race car that people will respect?

Sounds like a stupid idea so far, cut the car in half and rename it and maybe it will pass as a custom racecar.

You know it would also be easier to supercharge a 2nd gen, instead of the 1st, most ppl dislike the look of the first gen anyways.

Even with that in mind, a twin turbo kit would cost more than any 2nd gen out there is worth and not have have any resale value or practicality in a 4 speed auto tranny.

haha you are soo right I don't understand why someone would want to turn a family car into a sports car while spending much more than the car would already cost. I do understand it when people spend money to make the ride comfortable though.

HERE, HERE !!!!!
You speak blasphemy. First gens. are as beautiful as much as seconds (depending on your taste).
Changing times and concepts be damned.
You think a '69 'Cuda was ugly? How 'bout the Challenger, Charger, Coronet "Super Bee", etc.
Funny how those names are being brought back, and the new lines mimic the old for more recognition (marketing/sales, yes, but still).
If "most" people liked the second gen. better, why do we have a first gen. section with tons of posts from folks that have them?
There are some awesome looking second gens. on here and elswhere, but at the end of the day, personally, I think the seconds look like they got kicked in the ass, then got it cut off.
I don't care for the squared off rear.
My opinion is mine only, but to state that "most people dislike the first gen. anyway" is like saying "most people would rather have a dollar instead of 8 quarters"

personally I like the 1st gen better than the 2nd gen, I find the second gen body waay too big, round and bulky, the first gens are more sleeker like a bullet! I had a chance to get an 2000 trep for cheap! but chose the 1st gen.

I'd like to know where you think you would get a carbon fiber body from. And seriously these cars weren't built for speed they can hold there own once they get going but they are a family car.

Don't be so quick to call somebody's idea stupid!!
You may not like it, but it is not your car is it?

Let's not be disrepectful of other's ideas on here.

i think he meant this whole thing as a joke... hence "from a maniac"

Its not like it will ever come to life.
Plus for those that are in love with the 1st gens, our cars were never meant to be collectibles, they are just a family sedan. What is wrong with you people, how can you compare a cuda with a 1st gen intrepid, are you out of your mind?

Trepman,
All the new versions of the real muscle cars are meant to be just a name, and the companies bringing them back know it.
Plus again lets not forget that the intrepid is nothing like the challenger, cuda, super bee, camara, etc.
To answer your question, i have no idea why people would ever drive a 1st gen. There are a ton of complaints about them and they are dying by the day, so u wont see too many soon enough. The ones kept alive are probably through incredibly cheap junk yard parts and motor swaps as it has been mentioned before. Plus some crazed desire not to get a new car maybe?

Shadowvox6, dont be so quick to judge my comment. Did you even read the description? cf body? twin turbo? LOL all in a 1st gen body.
Im just being realistic thats all. Afterall the intrepid isnt a spaceship although it could be mistaken for one by size LOL (300m fits in there too).

Lets just say im glad its not my car.

That being said, in before the bin.

P.S. 1ST GENS FTW !!! LOL Lets change the mood a little HAHHAHA

Those that dont agree, wait for others to chime in and dont be retarded about this cuz u drive a first gen. You obv have to support your decision so it comes as no surprise seeing all the negative comments come from the 1st gen guys LOL.

Well, if you actually plan to go through with this overhaul, I wish you a ton of luck because you will need it. People have tried what you are attempting to do and failed x 1000.

As for the flame war about which gen looks better, I think its a biased question/answer game to which gen you own. If you own a 2nd gen why would you say 1st gen looks better? And vice versa.

It was just a joke guys I dont think the intrepid 1ST OR 2ND gen could handle that kind of upgradeing let alone what it would do to your gas mileage. I was just kinda kicking around an idea that I knew nobody would take serious. P.S. honestly I dont have a preference 1st or 2nd gen, they are both beautiful cars and are very comfortable and economic. That being said I own a first gen and I will stand up for it, I am at almost 140K miles and have had no problems at all. My old concorde that I wrecked had 169K on it and it drove like it was new. Its all about how well you take care of the vehicle really.

I forgot to mention the 8 speed slap stick transmission running through an all wheel drive system. LOL what a dumb idea this was.
