Manual says Mid Grade Gas Recommended. Think it's worth it?
Hi guys. I just found out recently I was wasting money on my old car with putting premium in but now I just bought a 97 intrepid with only 60,000 kms on it. Going through the manual it says Mid Grade or 89 Octane Recommended. What do you think of that? Should I feed her only 89 octane?
No I put premium in the old car and found out recently that it was a complete waste so I checked the manual on new car and it say 89 Recommended. Right now I think the Intrepid has a tank of regular so I guess I'll just try burning all of it and putting 89 in since gas is at an all time low right now. So BH1992 you said you did in fact feel a difference in the engine?
Yeah. I'm up in Canada and Regular 87 is 99.9 cent's a liter where as Mid grade is 109.9 a litre. Those tanks are about 60 litres so $6 more per tank, which isn't bad. I did start the car with regular in it and I think I may know what your talking about BH1992. The car kind of does shutter a little bit. Could be normal though.
