Intrepid Hitch Sawp ..... HELP

OKay so my father just got a boat. however he also has to tow his camper when he goes camping. sooooo he wants me to get a hitch on the trep.

now im all for this as then I can take the boat anytime I want to.

Its about $350 to get a brand new hitch/ball etc put on.

However old man was poking round the junkyard yesterday and found a 1st gen with a hitch on it. Its a bolt on.

my question is can I just take the whole assembly and put it on my car??

mayhaps? anyone?

would save me about $325 as its only $15 for the hitch.

you'd need to find a 2nd gen as I don't think a 1st gen hitch will work

the part number for hidden hitches is different among the 2nd gens too.

I found one off a concorde and it would not fit the intrepid based on the online part number, if the chassis is the same i guess you could make it fit?? not sure.. the junk yard guy said it wouldnt and hes pretty knowledgeable when it comes to the LH so i took his advice.

I would check local craigslist for a hidden hitch, u can prob get one made for an intrepid for around 50-75$. Thats what they were selling for when i looked one time. IT looks like ass on our intrepids so i never got one, i just use my parents van to tow stuff around.

Even hidden hitches show a lot on our cars and ruins the rear end especially beyond the class 2 size. Class 1 may look ok if you remove the ball and attachments.
