2001 Intrepid hard to shift

I have a 01 intrepid 2.7. The floor shifter has been getting stiffer to shit over the last year. Now it is near imposible to get out of park. Has any of you had this problem? Does anyone know if there are any recalls or TSB's on this problem? I have found that it is best to find out as much as I can about a problem before I take it to the dealer. Any info would be great. Thanks

Garage
Most likely the shifter cable is seized. Its relatively common. New one is about $90 plus installation.

Thanks, I told the mechanic that its probably the cable and that it is a common problem. He was sure it was the shift lever and not the cable. About an hour after I dropped it off he call and said it was the shift cable so he ordered a new one. $208.00 for the cable and labor but now it shifts very easily.
