carbon fiber pillar posts

On my 99 intrepid the black covers on the pillar posts peeled and really looked like crap, I was thinking about buying some carbon fiber ones from Ebay for my 2002, was wondering if anyone else had tried them?

not sure if they are good or not. But pep boys actually sells them for much cheaper. Although you would need to do the cutting.

well you might want to check the auto parts stores over there. Some one else from Canada may chime in on that.

The pillars on mine did the same thing I just sanded them and re-painted them.

I would sand and re-finish them like $Chedda$ and myself.
IMO, CF would look out of place.

I put a set of those on about a year ago. Did not like them at all , 2 days later tore them off. The material is about 1/16" thick and just looked out of place. I did however get some Carbon fibre "look " vinyl and covered pillars with it . Was way happier with the results !

Thanks for the info, they look a little thin and there is no mention of the thickness in the description, I was mostly wondering about the how the edges fit. There are also chrome plastic ones and real SS, these are both a little bright for my liking.

Any recommendations on color to use (p/n)? I also feel that CF would look outta place. Might need to paint mine soon.

Sand with 600 grit, spray with generic flat black, sand with 800, spray with generic clear, sand with 1200, spray again, sand again, and polish.
Part #" are GNFLTBLK, and GNCLR.

I just hit mine with a Powerball and some plastic polish. Was doing the headlights, then figured i would try it on the b-pillars. They look brand new now, along with the rest of the black trim around the windows. Nice and easy with the cordless drill. Mine were a little hazey before and i didn't realize how bad they were until i polished them up. If yours are beyond a polish, i would say a repaint would be cool. I think Warlord has those CF trim pieces though, and they looked pretty good.
