Bragging time

Well I just wanted to share the news of my first real mod. The other day at work a 2003 300m came into work and they replaced the whole center console. Lucky me got to pick thru some spare parts and all I could salvage was th Auto Headlights box. Low and behold my Intrepid now has auto headlights. Just wanted to brag and share that they work

Well if you wanted auto headlights all you needed was the sunsensor and an adjustable wrench to break the stopper on your headlight switch.

How exactly is a headlight switch spare parts from a center console swap since it is located on the far left dash piece?

To remove the center console on the treps. You have to remove the cluster trim first, which the headlight switch is located. It's one long piece that is half way through the whole dash.

Ok but that still doesnt explain why they would of replaced the entire piece instead of just removing and replacing

Well I'm guessing that...he work at a shop, and somebody came in with a 300m to get the center console replaced. Then he just took the switch out of the new console they were putting in...since it already had a working switch. hence the spare parts. I'm sure he had to take out the switch from the 300m bezel and put it in the trep bezel. Since the whole thing would not fit in the trep.

So, if an ES already has the sunsensor, which I assume is the little red flashy thing on the dash, then all you have to do is plug in an auto headlight switch and you have auto headlights? Do the fog lights come on as well, or do you still have to pull the knob out?

There would be no need to remove the switch if the center console was replaced. If the complete dash was replaced that would make sense.

fogs dont work in auto mode, unless you mod the switch to do that. Mine work as well, all you have to do is shave off yet another piece of plastic but its pretty obvious when you take apart the switch. The fog light indicator still comes on to show fogs on which is pretty neat.

The auto delay lights will only delay the headlights even tho it is modded for fogs.
