1st gen or 2nd gen LH

Hi there!

I don't know where to post this question so if you admins think this post needs to be moved, feel free

My brother's 2000 Stratus/Cirrus 2.5L got hit by a mo**********, side impact on the driver side, both doors and fender dead. According to the insurance adjuster the frame moved "upward", just a bit but enough to send this car to the junckyard. I did the timing belt and right cylinders lash adjusters in November! Well...

So now I'm back on leboncoin.fr (French Craigslist) and I'm looking for another Mopar

I have seen a few low mileage babies :
1994 Eagle Vision, 3.5L engine with 46250 miles on it, well maintained, leather (and heated?) seats => 2800 USD
2000 300M 2.7L with 78125 miles on it, I don't know if the WP has been changed yet => 3400 USD
2000 300M 2.7L too with 52500 miles, sunroof, same, don't know about the WP => 4500 USD
1999 300M 3.5L with 74375 miles => 4500 USD
2000 300M 3.5L with 64663 miles => 4500 USD too

All 300Ms sold in France came standard with power heated leather seats, ATC, projector headlamps (even on 1999 models) and headlamp washers.
I already talked to the Vision owner, the car has been parked most of its life in a farmhouse, the red paint is intact.
And I also saw a 2002 Sebring 2.7L with 75000 miles on it in the same price range, powered and heated leather seats too.

I know the 2.7L may be a time bomb if the WP hasn't been replaced and I don't feel like doing this job on a Sebring. Even on a 300M, I'd avoid it if I can...
Another thing, we have "fiscal horsepower" (unit is "cv") here! A 2.7L marks like 14cv and a 3.5L marks 17/18cv. Insurance and title prices are indexed on this unit, the greatest the most expensive of course.

So considering the Vision and a 3.5L 300M, what would YOU prefer? Reliability, drivability, etc...

Thanks in advance guys

I'm more torn to 3.5's simply because i'd hate to change out the pump on a 2.7...

But I'd say the vision or one of those 3.5L 300m's sounds probably the best.

Eagles are getting hard to come by, even over here. Just my opinion of course.

I would say at this point mileage and care trumps all. buy the one in the best shape and enjoy!

Ok thanks for the answers.

I'll be calling the Vision owner later today and I may be able to see and test the car tonight.

I don't know much about 1st gens options... Did some of them come with ATC or MTC only?
Do they have sun sensors like 2nd gens? So the headlight switch could be doable ^^
Autostick?

Vision would be a TSi, with more and likely automatic Hvac and far as I know since it seemed only the higher end TSis made it over. , All of the "Chrysler" Visions got the Euro-only Dual bulb headlights with a electric leveling system. (I happen to have a set in my closet from Serbia!) However over time these are nolonger made or even availble far as I know so Single bulb headlamps are the replacement from stock.

Being a 94 however means it did not get Auto Stick. Easily Fixable. 1Gs did come with Auto Headlight option as well. Typically if they have the sun sensor (located mid dash) they had auto headlights. If you can give me photo of the head lamps up close or the inside driver side I can give more info on this.

1Gs did not get heated seats.

As with many LH cars it is easy to add as many option (specially Factory) into it as you want long as you have Donors. My 93 Base-ESi sports the Overhead travel info, 300M PHP Front brakes, 2002 300m leather front seats, and Autostick from a 97 Intrepid amongst other things.
