need replacement speakers

hi guys,

i have the infinity 360W sound system now and its starting to run into issues as usual. I have the amp in the trunk and the whole system came from Ross so im sure he had the correct parts together.

I think the speakers are the same as the 240W system but regardless i would like to get aftermarket JBL ones to avoid future issues. Basically its the same rattle and hissing sound like my old midlines.

I just need your help to identify the correct specs for the oems (in the front doors). The others seem to be ok. I have a stock srt8 amp on the way but thats separate. Keep in mind im not looking for ground shaking bass or anything of that sort. I just want the speakers to sound ok and not get damaged over time like the stocks. So im going to replace them with the exact oem specs but a different company.

So far i know the following
4 ohm
size = ?
Watts = ?

Ive seen some speakers around 6.5" is that ours?? not sure.

Thanks in advance.

I thought the infinity system had 2 ohm speakers but Im not 100% on that. I also thought the front speakers were 6.5 and the rear 6x9.

maybe the midline is 2ohm???

Im like 99% sure the infinity is 4ohm but thats a good point, maybe an expert can confirm that too.

So youre relatively certain its 6.5" for the fronts?

It is definately 6 1/2 in the front, and stock is 6x9 for the rear. If you have subs, put 6 1/2 in the rear...they sound better. I believe all the stock speakers are 2 ohm.

Midline is 4 and Infinity is 2.

Front speakers are actually 6.75", however 6.5 fit fine as well.

cool so 2ohm 6.5" would be ideal. What about the watts, what are the stocks, 360W is prob all of them added up im sure.

Not sure about the W rating on the OE but I can look it up. I'll send you the link for the speakers on MSN.

Here is a little help on that price:
JBL GTO627 6-1/2" Speakers Car Speakers Car Audio and Video - Sonic Electronix

Sonicelectronix always has really good prices I would never buy anything from on of the big box stores. I bought my first set of speakers from Circuit City when I first got my car 4 years ago and after finding a better set for a better price on ebay I returned them and installed the new ones myself. They didn't do the best job on the install either they just drilled into the door panel but it didn't bother me too much.
