Damn Rats!!!

In my mom's winter beater (1997 Dodge Avenger w/ 2.5 Liter) some rats are now living in it. About a week ago, I was moving the lever between the recirc and open side and a dead rat fell out of the blower housing hole. However, it smells like 1 or more rats are trapped in there somewhere. I am thinking that they are in the duct work. Any ideas how to get those rat-bastards out of there? (Preferably without removing the dash.) And any ideas on how to keep them from getting in there again?

well if you still want the car in tact still im assuming, maybe lure them out with some strong smelling food mixed with rat poison. otherwise try a predator call recording or lay down a predator scent. might scare em out and away from there.
