Mopar part availability 5014313AB

Hello. I have a 2000 300M and love it. I developed an oil leak on a fitting that screws into the engine side block and has the oil pressure temp switch screw into that. A short hose on the fitting that swivels then hooks onto another hose. The p/n is 5014313AB. The part was being removed to be replaced and ended up breaking completly, thankfully not while the car was running. My problem is, mopar has had the part backordered for about two months now with no date of delivery. Any recomendations or ways of aquiring the part? I called about 30 dealers, checked online, and the salvage yards. I can't seem to locate one. It's rather unfortunate because I have a great car that I can't drive. Thanks

Welcome to the site.

I would suggest eliminating the oil cooler. It wont hurt anything if you do. Chrysler is having many supplier issues right now, and many common parts are getting discontinued or are on back order.

Its pretty simple to do, just remove the oil filter for access, then remove your sending unit, and the T-fitting that is leaking from the block. Put some new teflon tape on the sending unit threads, and screw it right into the block where the T fitting was. Remove your oil cooler lines from the radiator, and the return line from the side of the oil pan on the passenger side. You will need a 1/4" pipe thread plug to block that hole off IIRC. No need to plug the holes on the radiator oil cooler, nothing will leak out except whatever oil was left in there from the lines.

My fitting started leaking, and was available at the time. I found the miniscule effect the oil coolers have on oil temperature was not worth the $150 for the new fitting...so i eliminated it. Chrysler did it on all vehicles in 2002 as well.

If you dont want to go that route, you could try a boneyard for it, but it may be hard to get a good one that wont leak.
