Need Help...................

I just received the parts for my U-Connect mod today from a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan from Salvage yard in Troy, Texas. I found the items on car-parts.com and contacted him directly to confirm that it was in fact the U-Connect Mirror. He checked and sure enough it was the right one.

I asked him to send the Mirror, module and the two harnesses. What I got was a Mirror, Module, Satelite receiver, and the cables were cut six inches from the mirror. I also found that the part numbers for the mirror and module were slightly different.

1. Mirror p/n 5064018AD Previously posted 5064017AD
2. Module p/n 5064022AP Previously posted 5064022aQ

Is there anyone that has run into a similar problem? I have to order the cables and I don't know if they will be the same part numbers that were posted here.

I have no idea if this will connect to my RB1 so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Let me know where you're planning on getting the cables from and how much they cost!

I have dealt with a guy that was recommended by others on the 300M club site. His name is Junior and he works for Musselman Dodge in Baltimore, MD. I just gave him the part numbers so I should hear in a couple of days what they prices are.

Do you have a source yourself?

No updates so far. Still waiting to find out if the items that I got will work the same as the part numbers on the forum.

These are all the parts that I have purchased. Could one or some of the members that have done this mod tell me if I have all the parts, or if there might be something missing?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

What are the part numbers on that wire harness and control box ??
What year and vehicle did they come out of ??
The way I understood how this mod worked is you need 1-mirror, 2-wire harnesses and 2-control boxes.
But of course I could be wrong! ! !
It looks like you got the right mirror, 1 of the wire harnesses and 1 of the control boxes.
Again, I could be wrong! ! !
I have had a hard time finding the right parts for this mod also.

I had the same trouble but I got some help from another member.
The part you will need is the wire harness that connects the control box to the radio, the correct part number is 4869206AB.
Good luck and thanx for taking pics. I'm sure that will help out other members who are trying this mod.

Thank you very much for sending me this information and especially the part number for the harness. I may actually be able to get this mod installed.

I'll post back when I get it together.

Thanks

No sweat brother, your welcome.
If you need it I know of 2 places where you may be able to get the wire harness.
This is one of the mods that is really worth the effort putting togather. I spend half my day at work in my car pulling over to the side of the road to answer phone calls. Yeah this mod is just what I need!

I've dealt with these guys and they have been pretty good so far. Sometimes the first one has been a little cheaper then the second ones.

Who's your guy in "B-More", I live in Va.(stop laughing!) and if he is any good it could cut down on shipping time for me ??

Thanks you for sending these names. I checked the site and the second on is actually cheaper and located in Oregon which is a lot closer to me here in British Columbia, Canada.

Why would I laugh about you being from VA? I must be missing something. The guy I use in Baltimore is named Kevin "Junior" Viel and he works for Mussleman Dodge.

5717 Baltimore National Pike
Baltimore, MD 21228

I got his name originally from the 300M club board and have used him for just about all of the parts that I have ordered. His prices seem to be very good and his shipping charges quite reasonable.

I have an e--mail out for him on this harness so hopefully I will get an answer at the beginning of the week.

Thanks again for all of your help.

Just as a point of interest. I went to my local dealership yesterday to get a price on this harness. He quoted me $150.00 CAN plus taxes, bringing the total to $168.00. I have checked a couple of the US parts sites and prices range from $60.00 to $70.00 US. So even though there is the exchange and the shipping I still come in at approximately 1/2 of the cost to buy it here from my local dealership. Now you know why I purchase all my parts from the US. Also, there is no duty on auto parts to bring them across the border............ Enough said.
