42LE vs. W5A580 ( Discussion )

Main differences between the two? I would assume the W5A580 is a much more efficient and durable than the 42LE since it's a Mercedes product.

Having the 5 gears in the W5A580 as opposed to 4 in the 42LE must be nice traveling at 70+ MPH speeds.

The Benz is a terrible copy of a ZF design, but indeed it's stronger to be able to handle the increased torque and HP of several MB cars, and as we know some Chryslers.

In the LX cars a dipstick is not necessary, honestly they don't want anyone messing with them. Service isn't required as per the owners manual unless the car is in "severe" applications (ie: taxi, police...ect) otherwise it's filled for life.
