What is the factory Weight on a 2000 Intrepid 2.7L?

I have a question hoping someone can give me a answer to. We my wife and I have owned our 2000 Dodge Intrepid since buying it used at 2 years old in August of 2002. It was a company car leased to the Company my wife works for. A salesman left the company and my wife saw the car in the parking lot and had a interest in it so we purchased it. Its been a great car. We still have it with just a little over 115K miles on it. Not a lot of mileage for so many years being my wife works within 2 miles away. Ever since buying the 2000 Intrepid in 2002 I felt that I was getting overcharged for my Registration in the state of New Jersey for the car. For the last 14 years I just paid it and mailed it in. Was do to pay it again so I thought before I do so let me google the weight of the car as to what Chrysler said the car weighed in 2000. 3 sources on line show me that the car weighs about 3470,3471 and 3489 lbs. Well NJ charges almost double the cost of a registration on vehicles weighing 3500 lbs or more. Its the principal now to me because if I am right and my 2000 Intrepid with the 2.7L engine from the factory weighs less then 3500 lbs it cost me just over $420 more over the last 14 years to register it. I tried doing a Google search with my Vin number hoping to see something but came up blank. If anyone can help me prove my point here it would be much appreciated. I just need to know. Let me add just one thing. I called NJ Motor Vehicle about this yesterday. They told me since the car is so old now that I would need to bring it to a Weigh Station to have it weighed and then for me to bring the slip to my local DMV to prove the car weighs less then 3500 lbs if that is the case. What bugs me is that I didn't have to do that in 2002 or had to do this with any other cars I have owned over the years being the DMV supposedly gets their info from the manufacturers. I just feel who ever put the information in on my car made a mistake. Am I wrong or right?

I would have it weighed, just to see. Exact weight depends on options, the 2.7 SE cars were a bit lighter but not by much. I've never known the exact weight but have always read and guessed it was 3400-3500 lbs.

With me in my R/T with light gear in it (clothes, etc.) My car came up to about 3750 or something like that.

Take me out, rounded and thats about 3550.

I'm assuming the 2.7L would be just a little bit lighter, but not by much.

What bothers me is that if I have it weighed now in 2017, 17 years later I may have a full gas tank and of course have things in the trunk and what have you. I would think that maybe the weight of the car listed with the DMV by Chrysler may be a dry weight without a full tank of gasoline or anything else showing more weight. Do the Car Checks by Vin number online show the weight of the car? Just curious.

I just realized a little while ago that I never posted how I ended up making out here. I made sure the trunk was fairly empty of anything in it that had any kind of weight to it like a tool box or something of that nature. My gas tank was almost full. Couldn't do anything about that. Next I took my Intrepid to a metal scrap yard I have brought scrap metal to in the past and asked them if they would weigh my car being the state of NJ Weights and Measures checks their scales every so often. They weighed it and it weighed 3480 lbs 20 pounds less then 3500 pounds the cut off between paying $30 more per year on the registration. Took that piece of paper showing the weight to my nearest Motor Vehicle department and renewed my August Registration. The clerk looked at me like if I had 3 heads and then stopped everything to go and talk to other clerks at the department and then placed a phone call. They made the change right there. All previous registrations at $30 a year more is lost money. Nothing I could do about it but I learned a big lesson here. Don't trust something from the state because they are not always right about your vehicle. By the way I wasn't charged anything from the Scrap Yard to weigh my car.
