ALL Tune & Lube ripped me off on my Engine!
They cracked the new oil pan and wont honor my warranty that I have on the car, just had the engine replaced a week ago, so they towed it there, refused to fix it, asked for another $230 to fix it with MY old pan from my old engine. I argued with them and reported them.
So I went there and paid the $50 towing charge and bought the oil pan myself and I'm going to make an attempt at replace it myself but I'm a car noob so.
I'm pretty sure I know how to do it, I read the Hayne's Manual.
drain oil, take off oil filter, unbolt and remove stabalizer bar (sway bar), unbolt oil pan, use a soft mallet and tap it off lightly, dont pry it off, then glue the new gasket on to the engine block, put the oil pan back on, then the stabalizer bar, the oil filter and refill it with oil.
Is there a time frame I should wait to let the gasket adhesive to dry before I put the oil back in?
I think I'm going to keep the old oil pan and try to weld it (which i've never done either) and either sell it or keep it as a spare.
I also need to change my battery terminals, which I know how to do, in fact I changed the battery yesterday but the terminals are rusted and some reason teh negative cable doesn't want to fit anymore. eventually I want to reroute it to the trunk. I also need to get a housing for the battery because it keeps getitng wet because the splash guards suck and I need to figure out a way to fix the splash guards because last time when I replaced teh battery i ripped it out and all those plastic rubber bolts broke, so I don't how to replace that.
Any help would be appreciated. thank you.
