Please help a new guy!

My name is Mark. I have an 01 3.2 ES. Just changed the Guage cluster to 300m. (Thanks to info learned on this forum - Thanks to everyone posting in the how to sections and photo galleries)

Unfortunately the new guage cluster has the airbag, ABS and parking brake light on.
(to be honest - I'm not sure my 01 has ABS which could explain why that light is on)

Any ideas on a fix would be greatly appreciated

#1, the ABS/BRAKE/TRAC light will illuminate with a 300m cluster, because you do NOT have ABS. It can, however, be turned off by a dealer, using the DRBIII scan tool. They generally charge about 1/2 hour labour - IF they know how to do it.

The air bag is a different issue.
Since you state you have a 2001 car, you must have a 99 or early 2000 cluster.
Neither are compatable with the 2001 and up air bag control modules.
There is nothing you can do to alleviate that situation.
Whether or not the air bags will still work correctly, is something that no one has tested out yet.
In order for you to not get the airbag light, you must use a 2001 or newer cluster though some later 2000 ones will work OK.
You can generally tell what year - CHECK ENGINE light is in letters = 99/00; little pic of engine = 2001 and up.

Cluster is from a older car.

You can always cover it up with black tape or take out the bulbs to those areas.

Getting it fixed right is the way to go but there are other ways.

Let me make sure I understand correctly.

Would it be best to just get an 01+ 300m cluster and then have the dealer switch the ABS off?

The correct way would be to get an 01+ 300M Cluster and go to the dealer to get the light to go off.
