Is it true?

Is it true that in the last two years there has only ever been one first gen COTM winner? If you dont mind me asking I would like to know why.

PS: No crued remarks about first gens not being attractive or anything like that as there are many of us that prefer them over the seconds.

No it's not true. If you look here Car of the Month (COTM) - DodgeIntrepid.Net Forums - Dodge Intrepid, Concorde, 300m and Eagle Vision chat
you'll see there have been 2 x 1st gen wins, 5 x 300M wins, and the rest have been 2nd gens.

You may also notice that there haven't been any LHS or Concorde wins at all. Do you nominate 1st gens every month? Do you vote for 1st gens every month?

It's up to the members who wins, I don't think there is an answer as to why.

Not this again.

Let me tell you how the COTM is run.

The COTM runs off MEMBERS who nominate other MEMBERS! Noone is favorited or randomly picked. To send in 2 nomination you send a pm to Car of the Month account when you see that they are accpeting nominations. You must also vote as well. You cant really complain about the president of the united states IF you didnt vote. I just got off the phone with the COTM Guy and he told me that you havent sent a pm to him to nominate anyone.

Nothing wrong with 1st gens at all, I just sold 2 of mine I had.

Where is that kid with the batmobile? I would nominate him. If he could show a picture pulling his house down the road he would win for sure!

It's all about the person, how much they help others, how hard they've worked on their car and so on. Showing up to meets and getting to know the others better helps a lot too..

I'd love to have the COTM award, but in time due i presume i might get it someday. I got nominated a wile back wile i was doing my rebuild.

Yeah, you would think Chewievette would get alot of kudos for being the only Person of several LH sites, that has 100% rebuilt their drivetrain (aka Engine, which was custom, and transmission, which was custom) and I have yet ot really see him get the credit he deserves.

But, I nolonger care bout stuff like that. Cause I know the First gen has alot of several key features that makes it easier to work on and stuff.

That and I own an Eagle Vision, which looks better than all of them

I don't know if I would go that far... hypnos and ACR among others were doing similar things years before Chewie became the resident mad scientist of the LH world. gr8crash rebuilt his motor and trans from the ground up as well (except his was short lived)

I agree with you out of the first gen line-up

I agree with the " popularity contest" aspect of it to some degree. This has come up many times before ( as Nick previously stated ). I won COTM before I was very well known here, or had been to very many meets, but I posted A LOT, put up a lot of pics, let everyone know about every mod I did or planned to do and within about 6 or 7 months of being active, I won. I also became a paying member so that I could vote and get involved with the COTM process, it's no longer required to pay to vote, so get involved, show your stuff and it will happen...after my M wins that is ( jk)

I've rebuilt my motor from the ground up as well. There are tons of things several members here have done that deserve a reward but o well.

If you want to win that bad then make it happen, post a lot, become well known around the place..

I know how it runs I just havent taken the time to vote I was just asking a simple question about whether or not there had been more than 1 first gen winner thats all.

Lets see some pictures of your car.......kind of hard to get nominated if people can't see what your car looks like
