Dodges in NASCAR used GM Engines in 2001...?

The Dodges Running In NASCAR Winston Cup 2001 Have Had To Use Chevy Engines To Get Up To Super Speedway Speed For Testing? (Fact) Dodge Claimed It Is Working More Towards Reliability Rather Than Speed However DID NOT MENTION That None Of Their Engines Have Yet To Successfully Run 500 Miles At A Time!

I have lost faith fast in Mopar.............

some how thats Very disconcerting . that the new dodge motors cant run for a measley 500 miles with out breaking down lol. my old 78 dodge b200 full size Van ran for nearly 38,000 with out one major repair. so what does that say old is better

and it is. just cause its new does not mean it has less flaws then the older versions of it. "new should all ways be taken with a Cup OF salt"

Then why are you still here? Personally, I'm neither surprised nor the least bit interested in the fact that you lost faith in Mopar. Your attitude has been apparent for a long time.

Providing useful information is one thing, and you've done some of that, but when no one is asking for the information you're qualified to provide, posting inflammatory stuff like you just did is just ridiculous.

You drive a Volvo now, is that right? Well, here's a suggestion.... go join a Volvo enthusiast forum.

As for your presence on this forum, don't let the door hit your a$$ on the way out.

I'm sorry for being blunt.. even harsh... but people who join this forum and have no vested interest in Dodge Intrepids, other LH sedans, or Chrysler in general and are just here to harass and start fires are annoying at best.. and just plain stupid at the worst.

You know what man, take some meds or something. You are always way too defensive about these things. I have been through a lot with 3 different DaimlerChrysler vehicles and my familes best Chrysler vehicle is the 1997 Town & Country w/80,000 miles (Steering starting to shake hard, 2 Transmission rebuilds even though correct fluid has been used, needs new Struts, Water Pump failed and Airbag/Clock Spring defect. Just as much as you have the right to be very defensive and jump all over me, I have the right to be here because I have invested a lot of time and money in several DaimlerChrysler vehicles although I will never own one again so don't tell me where I should be. If you are so certain that these things are not true (although facts) and that a very high percentage of these vehicles are excellent vehicles for everyone then why waste your time being so defensive......?

And yes I have found my Volvo to be a much better vehicle. 1988 Volvo Turbo Wagon w/performance mods.........

A little over 220,000 miles (Same Engine, change Oil only every 4,500 miles, same Steering Rack, Same Transmission, shifts smooth, no noticable Tire wear in 25,000 miles)

I think I have the reasonable right to not be the happiest about DaimlerChrysler, I have only stated some facts about how deceptive and misleading this company can be. If you do not think that Dodges running GM Engines in NASCAR is not deception, false advertising and that people shouldn't know the truth then you're in some major issues of denial. I am sorry if I was at all harsh.

Hey MoparPerformance;

Are you a member of any Volvo related message boards? I'm looking for one to browse cause I'm kinda interested in picking up an S80, V70 or perhaps an older model in the next year or so.

To be honest, I don't really care about Nascar.

I also don't really care about anything you've said.

But I'll ask you the same question I asked other DC haters:

Is there something wrong with liking our cars and/or DC? What makes our opinions less important or "wrong" and yours more important and "right"?

Is there something wrong with those of us here who LIKE or even LOVE our cars?

You have your anti-Intrepid website... and we have our Intrepid enthusiast website. If you're not an Intrepid enthusiast, I'll ask again... why are you here?

000Chrysler - You're veering off into other things that I have not even questioned. You have a right to like these cars and I have a right not to based on certain experiences. For all I care you can go have a formal wedding and marry your Intrepid. I am not even pushing the limits you discuss. It sounds like you're getting all emotional about this. Again if you're one of the happy ones then great. There should be nothing wrong with exposing true facts so in fact I don't really care about your fantasy world ignoring true facts or other people's true experiences. And if you don't care about NASCAR then why the hell are you here in this post........?

Now to move on.......... LHser - No, haven't found a good Volvo site yet........

Actually I am working on a huge Volvo Performance website as we speak. The site will be up in about 2 months. I have already designed a bad ass animated introduction with a 740 Turbo flying through the air and a Turbocharged 244 smoking it's Tires down a road.

Yeah, V70's and S80's are very nice. The majority of Volvo owners are very happy. I'm thinking about getting a 93-96 Volvo 850 Turbo myself.

A BS story DC never used GM motors in 2001 or any other year. Some body gave you a line of BS. I have seen some of the NASCAR Intrepid motors. They look a lot bigger than the GM or Ford motors. And they have been very reliable better then GM and Ford. And being they are brand new motors just off the drafting boards. Check the DNF`s on the NASCAR teams Dodge motors failed a lot less than the GM and Fords did. My first car ran 324,000 miles before the body rusted away to nothing a 1964 Plymouth Valiant with a 225 cid slant six the motor and tranny never replaced. Check Alllpar they have a shit load of DC cars with over 200,000 miles on them. If you take care of your car it will last. If you beat the shit out of it it won`t. And all the car makers have had lemons.

Fine, whatever.. I'm not talking about marrying my Intrepid and I'm not denying that some people have bad experiences. I'd be surprised if there were a car that no one complained about. All of which doesn't change the fact that the Intrepid is, overall, a great car. Nothing you have said should convince anyone that they are not.

Not a line of BS my friend, I know NASCAR officials, I'm also not the only one with this information. They are definately not going to put GM on the Engines and by looking at the Engine you wouldn't even know that the Block, Pistons and other components were GM....... Dodge gives NASCAR a lot of money though sponsorship so NASCAR has no incentive to make this public. I suppose that Dodge was out of NASCAR for so long prior because they were just too good for NASCAR or something.............

On July 4th of this year, I will be getting married (commitment ceremony first, then legally married) to my boyfriend. It's not a "maybe" or a possibility... it's a certainty.

I love my boyfriend more than any car.

Congrats on your upcomming wedding.

Mopar performance you are so full of shit, they are dodge blocks and dodge heads as for pistons and other components they are neither dodge or gm or ford for that matter, all the teams buy their pistons, cams, valves springs, intakes, rings and other components from the aftermarket, ford, chevy and ford and if you want to bring up false advertisinf the pontiacs use chevy blocks and heads.

Then that means all the GM and Ford funny cars have DC Hemi`s in them. Your remarks are wrong. The teams make their own pistons and cams. The blocks are DC made like the last 5 years for the NASCAR truck teams. I have seen the Bill`s number 9 Daytona 500 race car this last year at the Minn state fair with the other makes there too. You can tell the motors are different. Like Rusty Wallace`s comments last week at testing NASCAR.com. He said dam thats a lot motor under the hood bigger than Fords. I will take the drivers word over yours any day. Your right about MOPARS being too good. The first motors ever to be band where 1964 426 hemi`s and body`s of the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona`s the first car to break the 200 mph and the 1970 Plymouth Superbird`s. In 1970 DC won 38 out of 48 races.
