Angry Car won't turn over...

So I go to my job on my day off to pick up my phone charger and when I try to leave, my car won't start. It's getting gas, and the fuel pump is working.

The car cranks but won't turn over...I don't know exactly what is wrong but I've gotten some suggestions...

a. Bad coil pack
b. fuel pump
c. alternator (every bootleg mechanics answer, lol)

Do any of you know???

Its impossible to "know" for sure without checking a couple things. Pull a plug and ground it while its being turned over to see if you have spark. If you have spark then a fuel pump is a good guess but still not 100%, could be something else like I believe if you lose a cam sensor shuts down the fuel sysytem. The FSM has a procedure for checking the sensor, you will need a fuel pressure test to know for sure if its the pump. If I were stuck somewhere and I had to guess I'd say its the fuel pump.

i know from experience if the cam sensor or crank sensor fail then it wont start, i personally haven't heard of a fuel pump ever going out of an intrepid, so i kinda doubt that would be the issue, possibly dirt/oil on the end of either of those 2 sensors, i know my GF's car had that problem with the cam sensor, cleaned it up and problem solved.

Well, the crank sensor wasn't the problem. I checked the fuel pressure and the car is getting gas. I no longer know wat the problem is or could be.

okay then check to see if your getting spark. I wouldn't say it's the coil pack, simply because the 3.2l's don't have coil packs, they have a coil over plug design and those coils don't usually go out too often.

so if the car isn't getting spark, I think you should try the cam position sensor, cause I see you already did the crank sensor.

or on a form I was just reading, a guy's car wasn't starting because the timing belt slipped, or broke or something like that.

it could also be something like a bad ASD relay.

but check to see if you are getting spark first, if your getting spark and the car still doesn't start you may have other problems.
