Don't single-out DaimlerChrysler

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/autom...ufacturers.htm

If we're to believe what's on MoparPerformance's website, let's also believe what we see on the above site.

The conclusion?

ALL cars from ALL manufacturers have problems. That's the only conclusion that holds up with consistent proof.

Hahaha.... unlike some gay guys, I am NOT into cheerleading.

And my reaction to your sound bite is a pretty good indication of how seriously I take just about everything you type, alderran. In other words, I don't take it seriously at all.

Have a nice day.

The website created has facts, the complaints are from owners that provide VIN numbers, invoices and Dealership information, some have even told us who they have dealt with, who their technician was etc. The other information that we have has been verified from other reliable sources, consumer advocate websites, attorneys etc. The information is factual backed up by valid information and that's it....... There were actually a lot of stories that didn't get on the website because they were out there with no evidence or supporting information. Why are you so defensive if there is no real problem with some of these vehicles and why would you feel so threatened?

Perhaps you and others know that many of these things are true. Chrysler is the number one lemon manufacture and being so was even banned from selling any of it's vehicles in California for 60 days for so many excessive lemon law violations several years ago. Chrysler is still the number one lemon maker, there are more Chrysler vehicles at wholesale auctions than any other vehicle. I know many car dealers that admit that so many of these cars wind up at auctions because they are lemon returns or have had excessive problems. The Honda dealership where my wife works will not even put Intrepids, Concordes or 300M's on their lot because the managers say they have too many problems. This dealership will not even accept one of these vehicles on trade! I have experienced the problems, do not experience them with other vehicles and know others with similar issues so you guys with the good experiences can get together and protest my experience just as as myself with those that have experienced the issues protest yours.

You have made it more than clear that you are not one of the many people stuck with a defective DaimlerChrysler vehicle. I am thrilled for you. Do you want a freakin award or something to further validate this........?

The website is http://intrepid.clan-510.org where people can decide for themselves. If you experienced these issues, you would easily understand..............

No. I don't want anything from you... nor do I need anything from you. Like you, I'm simply speaking my mind about my experiences and what I think of the validity of yours and those you've received.

And while I can somewhat believe all the stuff you say, I do not believe for a second that Chrysler is the number one lemon manufacturer.

Where's your proof of that?

Did you even look at the website I listed at the beginning of this thread? There is a lot of stuff there on Chrysler, but there's a lot of stuff from.. guess what.. OTHER makes and models too.

Do you disagree with the conclusion I drew from that website? If so, why?

The total number of complaints on your website seems rather insignificant in comparison to the number of people who own Intrepids and other LH sedans.

I love it the only thing they could find bad about the 300M. Was the two tone color on the dash. Some times caused glare on the windshield. I have never had this problem with my 300M.

Maybe you should join this forum under a different name, MoparPerformance... I mean, after all, it is seemingly contradictory to your opinions.

Here are some suggestions:

AllHailVolvo
DamnChrysler2Hell
IntrepidsSuck
YouAllSuckForOwningIntrepids
TheWorldRevolvesAroundWhatIThinkOfIntrepids

But, I'm sure you don't need any help from me coming up with something similar.

Nice. Seems the problems posted on that site about Intrepids are all from people who bought USED Intrepids. Like, who the hell knows how the previous owner(s) took care of the car. Tranny problems? Perhaps the previous owner used the wrong type of fluid (which seems to be the cause of a good number of tranny failures).

The stories about Chrysler Financial are just hard to believe. The author makes good points about those stories.

Alderran...shut the fuck up. Did you and adaptabl get back together in the sack or something? When you first joined you acted like a prick. Than you actually became tolerable. Now you are back to acting like a prick.

MoparPerformance....I've heard a lot more happy stories than sad stories when it comes to DC. Shitty cars also don't tend to make it into fleet vehicles such as rental companies and police cruisers.

I agree, I have even stated in the past that virtually all automobile manufactures have problems. There are also several Fords and a GM in my family and I'll be honest that there has been some problems but not as premature and not as rediculous as the Chrysler's I have dealt with.

1997 Ford Contour Lease up at 50,000 miles (Engine, Steering, Transmission all OK), small electrical problem with Brake lights fixed by Ford.

1999 Ford Mustang GT (anniversary edition), 60,000 miles (Engine, Steering, Transmission all OK), Differential making noise beyond warranty and Ford took care of the issue.

1994 Ford Ranger 4X4, 84,000 miles Steering is a little loose, Engine is still strong and still get's good gas mileage. Clutch plate is being replaced for second time and Heater Core had to be replaced.

Yeah, there were some problems but I'm not anywhere near upset with Ford. Sure almost any vehicle will have problems but when when it becomes ridiculous I draw the line.

Explain this....for 15 years my family has been using Chrysler products. They included many different mini-vans, an Avenger, a Neon, a Sundance, a Liberty, and an Intrepid. NONE have had any serious problems! That is just my immediate family. Relatives also own many including Rams, Talon, Concorde (1G) and Intrepids (1G) to name a few and only my aunt with an Intrepid had a serious problem with the suspension, but that's because she lives out on an ungraded dirt road and just flys down it!

My personal experience and my experience on this board tells me that well over the majority of owners have no serious problems with their cars.

Now that I said that, my car will blow up.

Ridiculous for you in your situation MoparPerformance, perhaps.

A lot of people I've talked to think of Ford the way you think of Chrysler. Are their experiences invalid and yours gospel?

Forgot to mention that many of the people who have had serious problems are either completly stupid, just didn't know better, or had a moment of pure stupidity. Examples include using the wrong tranny fluid, using a 125hp shot of NOS on a stock engine (still would have loved to see that), or just simply not taking proper care of the car.

As to the possibility of incorrect fluid being used.......

There shouldn't even be a wrong fluid! The Chrysler has realized that there Transmissions are failure prone and prone to poor shift characteristics so they had to formulate a special fluid just for their Transmissions. Instead of putting a warning label under the hood, Chrysler keeps pretty quiet about this so people damage their Transmissions and they can capitalize. Many of the used Intrepids I see were purchased with about 10,000 - 25,000 miles so the Tranny fluid shouldn't even be touched that soon. The sad truth is that many of these low mileage Treps were traded in because of problems. The dealer will either properly repair them prior to resale or they will continue.
