Nomenclature help!

Can someone tell me what this part does? Seems to be the source of an oil leak and I'd like to try and reseal it. Any and all advice appreciated.

Manifold Tuning Valve or MTV. There's an O-Ring that seals it to the Intake Manifold.

I forget the size offhand but you can get a bag of Viton O-rings off Ebay for less than $15 shipped. The Dealer doesn't sell just the O-ring....you'd have to order the MTV to get the O-ring for well over $200 if it's not discontinued. I'll check on the size and reply later. I'm pretty sure I have a bag of them hidden away somewhere. Someone else might have that info and respond before me.

EDIT: they're a #136 O-ring. The material needs to be Viton. I can send you a couple for $5 in an envelope. Let me know if that's an option for you if you can't find them locally.

Thanks. I'm not clear on how it can be leaking oil, or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Seems like it would only need to seal the manifold air, however, the bottom of it is dripping with oil and I don't see any other source.

The Intake manifold gets oil in it from the poor PCV valve system. Very typical in the 3.2/3.5L engines. The O-ring is no longer sealing the MTV to the Intake and it's leaking oil that's collected in the Intake.

Hey Ron - GREAT info! If you have extra o-rings I could sure use a couple as I'd rather have parts in hand when starting. If you have Paypal or something that would be great! [email protected]

Hi,

Is there a how-to replace this, or am I completely overthinking this, an it's as simple as removing two bolts, replace o-ring, and tighten two bolts?

Is there a torque spec for it?

Thanks!

Just what you said. No torque spec. -just common-sense tightening. Tighten to seat the cover, plus a little more.
