A few weeks ago I posted about using 3D printing (Also called Additive Manufacturing) to reproduce hard to find parts. Someone rightly pointed out that 3D printers are damned expensive. Since then I've been doing a little research and found a number of online 3D printing services are available. To produce a part they need a 3D drawing (Solidworks or Sketchup work fine.) and they can produce the parts in a variety of plastics and metals. Even some UPS Stores around the country not only offer 3D printing but scanning services as well. Here are few links:
