Now WHAT do I do?

The Saga continues;

The Denver PD called this afternoon, my car was recovered! Although, now it's not really mine, it belongs to Farmers Insurance. I went to check it out to see if any of my personal items happened to still be there and the car is damn good shape. They punched the lock cylinder on the passenger side to get in, then they found the key in the center console and drove away. (the key was there because there have been thefts in the morning while cars are warming up. so brilliant me locks my spare in the car while its warming up and leaves in the center console during the day) At least they didn't mess up the steering column to get it started.

So, Farmers wants to know if I want it back. What do you think?

If you wanted it back, what would you ask the insurance company to do to make sure it hadn't been F*#@ed with?

They drove it about 100 miles, right out of warranty to 36035.

All feedback will be appreciated!

well if you really like the car then accept it back but i would tell them it should be looked over from a mechanic for under carriage damage from the theft. for there get away means.

no...i wouldn't take it back...thay may have raped the engine or fucked up the frame work and you cant tell by looking at it. have your insurance pay for new vehicle with a warrenty. also if you ever tried to sell it you wouldn't get shit for money due to it's history.

you could all ways ask them to laser spec the fram in a auto body shop. and you cnat hurt the engin that much other then hitting low bumps that could slightly worsen any motor mount issue.

I hope you're kidding? If you really believe that, go out tommorow and put your car in neutral and just floor it for a minute...........

I think your very poor grammar and spelling is a good representation of your intelligence. By the way, I'm out of the house till about 4pm and then after eating I usually go over to some friends house or out with g/f, whatever the case. And I get home around 9-11pm. And while I'm home I usually stop by here to see what's up.

I say let the insurance have it, take all that worth anything out of the car thats worth something to you before they take it though, and sit back and wait for the check. Then go out and buy yourself a new one = )

i wouldnt take it back. any you can damage an engine or transmission significantly within 100 miles. imagine if they had been out redlining it all day, doing burnouts, neutral drops,etc... it may not show now but it couldnt have been good for the long run. imagine if you stole a car, wouldnt you go beat the shit out of it? anyone see the cky video (i think) where they totaled a rental in a day?

Yeah I saw that video. Also, there is a part just like that in the Jackass Movie.

I would not take it back, doesn't sound like a good situation.

Tell the insurance company to keep it. My friend has had his minnivan stolen twice and he's still kicking himself for taking it back the first time (he had no choice the second time) cause his tranny is on the way out, stereo sounds like crap and he's still finding things that should have been noticed/fixed.
