Angry same as Treppy Tranny?

Just had a talk with the owner of a Dakota. Are their transmissions the same as ours? His just went (42 000 miles!!)

Nope, they are different I can't remember the number of them. How tough on the tranny was he?

I believe those are quite different transmissions. Dakota has a lot more torque, is RWD, and is made for towing over comfort.

dodge is known to have tranny problems...i wouldnt think much of it

the truck trannies usually have the clutch pack go.. and don't need the entire thing replaced.. just the pack.. should only cost about $300-500 dealer cost.

You can be a Dodge fan and still realize that Dodge/Chrysler has some of the worst transmissions ever designed.

Whether they are the worst or not, the powertrain warranty they now come with is pretty darn good.

They need that warranty, you may say? Maybe..

But that argument applies to Kia and Hyundai too.

It's all a demonstration by the manufacturer of what they're willing to put behind what they sell.
