My (almost) new car...

Guess I should post this for those who don't visit the "other" site.

The Pt has been giving me a few problems lately, and frankly I just cant get used to a small car, so I found a nice replacement.

Its a 2005 AWD Magnum R/T with 6k miles, yes six. One owner, a 70 year old man. Driven only on the weekends. Has every piece of paperwork for the car including original window sticker and all the reciepts forom the add ons. Price is 16k for everything which I think is a hell of a price considering the amount of money/work put into the car.

From his Emails:

It is an 05,built in Dec.04 and I bought it new at a small dealership in Spring of 06. I traded my 05 Magnum R/T RWD which was one of the early ones which was made in May of 04. I had wanted an AWD at that time but they weren't out yet! The car has some of my Pig theme items such as headrest and console embroidery which could be easily changed out. I have all original paperwork, brochure Etc. that came with the car plus all receipts for add ons. Car has never been abused but I get on it at times even though I am 70 I still like a big motor!

The wheels aren't fancy but they are only 22# each. They are Borbet made in Germany, they do wheels for Porsche and others. Tires are HP all season from Yokohama. The stock wheels and tires are perfect and only have 1,500 miles on them. The grill is from Dennis on LX site and badging is retro R/T.Ghost flames are gorgeous in right lighting yet very subtle and tastefull, they were over $3,000. Tail-lights are LED.CAR is lowered about 2" due to the KW v-s suspension which was $2,000 installed counting a 4-wheel aligment. The window pillars are blacked out, tint is stock. Headlights are new black ones I bought from Eastway Chy.

The flames are copper pearl from Chargers.

Interior has red seat inserts ($800.00),red carpet ($600.00),realCF dash kit ($300.00)dark door pulls with red stitching ($100.00),darkconsole cover and embroidery($120),leather stitched sterring wheel cover ($60.00),aluminum pedals($!00.00)all BT knobs, shifter, door locks, door buttons ,shifetr surround($300 plus). knob, door sills from BT ($80.00). Car still smalls new inside ! Car won "best of show-Magnum)at first LXNats and won "best of show weekend driver Magnum last year, and best interior amatuer last year.

Red instrument background from Red Fox($200),husky liner floor mats, can see leather stitched syteering wheel and aluminum pedals.

subtle hand pinstriping to give it a little flair/color

custom made V-2 spoiler from 402 motoring ($400.00).

Engine bay has CF engine cover with chrome letters,CF strut covers,CF fuse box ($700.00)BT catch can w/braided hoses($120),silicone radiator hose($70),DUB CAI ($340),all BT knobs/caps avilable($200),painted coolant tank ($165) JBA ceramic coated headers, mid pipes and stainless catback system($2000.),cool IT mod ($150.),noESP mod($75.) Engine and undercarriage are very clean.

Car at a local show,LAMBO doors (LSD door kit $1,800.,install $1000),eyebrows from 402 Motoring ($100.) I have stock suspension parts, stock door parts, two engine covers,tires/wheels and some small items that go with car

rear wiper delete and BT wing which I had partially painted($120),rear diffuser from SRT($165),LED tail-lights ($200),front emblem from BT ($65),lower door panels sprayed .

Pics are all located here: http://s10.photobucket.com/home/chandonnet

password is awdmagnum Didnt feel like posting nearly 50 pics.

Most might not like it, some might, But i personally dont mind how it looks at all. Not to mention, I can't pass up a nearly brand new car for that price.

I'll be flying out Saturday morning to pick it up then driving it the 12 hours home, Should be a good time.

Nice car and an awesome deal.

Perfect example of why new cars are a rip off in my opinion.

Buy a new car for $36K, spend another $15K modding it for a total of $~50K and then sell it a couple of years later for $16K.

Not sure yet, being AWD kinda limits my options, I could go with the Charger srt8 factory repros, But they are my least favorite srt wheel, Would rather have the srt challenger wheels.

The AWD issue does limit your options. The offset it the difference IMO. The standard off for the SRT wheels is 25.5, the AWD's are 38 (much closer to our wheels)

IMHO, there are some things that are a bit over the top with the car, but I can overlook those and see this is a quality car and very much one of a kind.

Good find Brian, enjoy the ride.

I don't think they look bad, just out of place considering the rest of the car, not to mention a bit small for me. 20's or 22's for such a big car.

I kind like the wheels myself. The car sure does have alot of Mods. On a side note what problems are you having with the GT Cruiser??? The reason i'am asking. Is that we just brought a 2003 red GT Cruiser for the wife. Loaded with every option but the flame pkg,and auto start add also. We have had it for 2 weeks and we love it. I changed plugs, wiring, coil and added a KN Cai system. The dam thing will bark the tires in 2nd gear. And she is getting 29 mpg on the hwy.
