Cool Aftermarket shifters

Has anybody installed an aftermarket ratchet or Z gate shifter (Hurst, B&M, Cheetah, etc.) in their Intrepid? Either in the console or freestanding? I'm wondering which if any of them might work. I'm thinking you might need a lengthened shifter cable to reach the transmission, but other wise why wouldn't they work? I'm thinking it would look pretty good, and it has functionality. Yeah I know you could just go with an autostick but why not something different?

I believe all that I have seen is aftermarket knobs. No one has gone to the trouble of anything more

That's all I've seen too, but i'm wondering if aftermarket shifters will work. The only problem i can see is if the throw from gear to gear on the shifter moves the cable a different amount than the valve body needs, then it wouldn't work, but other wise?
