I use to use it every oil change. But when I got my Blackstone Lab results back they indicated my Viscosity was little high, mostly due to the Lucas. Since then I have stopped using it. I have honestly have not seen any difference with using it or without. Here in a few months I am going to resend another Oil sample to them and re test without the lucas in there.

I use the Lucas product all the time but in a narrow application. The ten year old Freightliner I own and drive has over 1,300,000 miles on it. I use Lucas at about 20% in the crankcase.
That being said: I don't think I would do that in the Intrepid, or any newer engine. Lucas is a oil thickener and should be used only in engines that are going run for extended periods, or are well worn.
While providing superior protection once warmed, in a cold engine, Lucas might actually delay lubrication during a cold start. For my Freightliner which runs days at a time, cold start is not a problem, but for a Intrepid that need full oil pressure at very cold temperatures several times a day, Lucas/STP or any oil thickening additive might be a bad idea.

Metals, Gas, Antifreeze, Wear, Viscosity, Boiling point, and just all sorts of awesome little details. And they give you a little paragraph on how they think your engine is doing from the results.

Its like 25 ish bucks. Look up BlackStone Labs, ask for a free sample kit. They send you out stuff, you follow instructions, send it back, and you get results within reasonable amount of says.

You can send it in any time. But it is recommend at the oil change is when you do it. And make sure you catch the oil as it comes out, not out of the bucket or filter.

I use it every other oil change. Been doing it for nearly 2 years. The engine starts every time without a hitch.

I tend to start using it when an engine begins burning a little oil - it often stops any sign of bluish smoke. Not sure if it is chain wide - but my Home Depot just today but the huge 128oz (gallon) size on closeout for only $8 rather than $34. I bought them out - set for many years now. LOL Great size for any truckers out there.
