Question Chrysler Crossfire

I saw the General Discussion section and though I would post this for anyone that is interested.....went to DC Crossfire Tech Specialist Training last week for work and got a real good look at the new DC offering.... looks more like a German/European car, the engineering is pretty basic, except I really like the idea of yaw and lateral sensors to use the brake system to try to control the car in a broad slide or when swapping ends by pulsing individual brake calipers.... also has a steering wheel sensor to read driver input........ then it will close the "fly by wire" throttle plates thru the PCM to try to control the car as a last resort. This is the kind of technology we have right now, but I made sure you could over-ride the system and could turn it off when you wanted;) The car is completely built in Germany and it looks like Mercedes Benz engineering.....DUH.... on a SLK platform no less...... what's next????

The more I see and read of this car, the more and more I like it.

I like it too. Problem is, there are several cars that I like when you get into that price range, and if I wanted a Benz, well... With all those fancy bits, you're looking at a whack of cashola.

It will be a hard sell. 2 seats,Underpowered, 7 year old Mercedes technology. There are too many real good cars in this segment. I bet we see it go the the way of T-bird real soon.

Hard sell??? Maybe , but our dealership has 37 people that have left a deposit already waiting for just one to arrive, Also forgot to mention that a convertible Crossfire is in the works for next year ( even the glove box door is in the alarm system in case the top is down when parked) and then a supercharged version the year model after that...was told by a factory rep that the Crossfire will do almost 150 mph now???? not sure about that.... and how about the rear spoiler that raises up at over 50 mph to stabilize the rear of the car so it won't step out (gets loose) cuz the aero package shape of the rear causes lift at high speeds??? Not sure how the US market will accept this car except that 8 are in the USA now, 2 for corporate showings and 6 for tech training... I've seen and have driven one of them so my opinions might be biased as a dealership tech that just works on them.
