Depend on how much you love your car is to you wanting to do it. A lot of work will be involved in converting the car over to OBD2.

You will need the entire engine and body harness, the computers from the OBD2 donor car. There is a sensor on the 95 engine (OBD1) that is in a whole different location in the 96 engine, so you would have to modify the harness to make it work.

Is it worth going through all that hassle to rip out all the wiring harnesses on both cars and shoving the OBD2 harness into your car, well that all depends on how much you know on how to do it, and how much love you have for your car..

you know come to think about it....and i thought real HARD about it....for as much love as i got for this car and restoring it to its full potential i think i might just do it....now i just have to find the time to swap out the harness and pcm/ecu...i dunno if its me or the whole mod bug thing but man i just can't stop working on this car even if there really isn't much i can do to it lol

if anyone has an extra engine wiring harness for a 96/OBD2 3.3L laying around just sitting and they wanna get rid of it i'll be willing to ship it

I'd just buy an OBD-II car complete and be done with it. But that's just me!

I meant to buy an OBD-II car that you could drive rather than doing this pointless mod!

Does someone want to tell me I'm wrong when I say that I think the OBDII has less performance than it's OBDI counterpart? I think there was a page with all the specs for all years on allpar.com
