HHO gas

I install a hho generator on my car and my PCM hates it. The first 10 miles I couldn't tell a difference and then my check engine like comes on. After driving it for an hour my trep jerked and the light went off. Then on I started using more gas than I did without the hho generator. Has anybody else tried this?

water4gas.com

Supposedly creates hydrogen from water using the vehicles electricty, turning your car into a gas/hydrogen powered fuel cell.

Probably not the most effective use of your hard earned money.

You'd be better off buying a Chevy Volt or Prius, etc...

it takes more energy to create the hydrogen than you get out of it. but from what i've read, im no expert on the matter, subsidizing gasoline or diesel with hydrogen could improve the combustion of the fuel causing a more complete burn. im not sure if there is a true benefit or increase in mileage but either way, you cannot just plug something into the car and expect a miracle.

not to mention the emission from combusting hydrogen is water, aluminum heads, cast iron manifold, steel exhaust... corrosion and rust anyone? how much would you save in gas? how much does a new exhaust cost?

At Daytona Toyota, we had a man with so called great HHo powered sienna van. had the line running through the van with valves into the engine.

Needless to say, he came in few months at buying it with huge problems. Turns out he fried the pistons and exhuast valves. Was not happy when he found out he voided the warranty by installed such nonsense.

Suckah!

I'd remove that thing immediately. Obviously a CEL is not a good thing.

hydrogen poses no more humidity problems than gas.
short, cold temp running will rot metal from moisture from either fuel.

Mythbusters had an episode that dealt with that device.
It was totally and completely busted for the previously stated reason that it takes more power to create the hydrogen than the hydrogen can produce.
It's a huge scam, just like so many other so called miracle devices that advertise incredible gains in power or economy for only pennies.

The scammers advertising the fake fuel cell kits then retaliated against mythbusters by saying that they did not do it right. They claimed that Mythbusters left out a key ingredient and even showed a video of their hydrogen production device bubbling ten times as much as the one mythbusters did. The key ingredient in their device? Baking soda, which of course creates bubbles when added to water.

The baking soda in the water they are making the hydrogen with will create far more carbon dioxide gas than hydrogen gas, and that would seriously hinder the combustion of the tiny amount of hydrogen gas that was produced..
