Alright now i'm pissed off

As most of you know, I had to replace my engine from an oil pump failure. Good stuff.

So i'm driving around today, and all of a sudden my powersteering goes to shit. So i pull over and pop the hood, the fluid level is fine, whatever, so I start the car again and try to go, it's still not working. What the holy hell.

Pop the hood again, and I see the belt just hanging there. Now you might think snapped belt, cause that's what I thought. Then I took it off and it was all in once piece. Whaaat?

I take a little looksy down into the engine, and what do I see? A big chunk of metal with a pully on it just lying at the bottom. It snapped right off whatever it was attached too. This is the belt that drives the powersteering, Idle pully and alternator. It looks like it's the power steering pully.

So I call my dad up at work, he says just leave it and walk to the garage to setup an appointment.

So I walk into the place, and tell the guy what happened. Now he thinks the belt just snapped but i'm like "No, the pully snapped right off". I don't think he quite understands, so i'm like, whatever you'll see when i bring it in.

I call my friend up and we head over to look at the car. With a lot of work, and the help of a tree branch, and some very burned arms, we get the stupid thing out. Yup it snapped right off, and it's a huge piece of crap.

I limp the car back to the garage, which wasn't fun, and walk in there with an intact belt in one hand, and a chunk of metal with the pully on it in the other. He's like, yeah that's not good, leave it in the car and we'll look at it tommorrow.

So now I gotta talk to the dealer since the engine is under warrentee from our other little mishap, and make sure those idiots fix it for free. It looks like it snapped right off the block or something, which is exactly what they replaced only a few months ago. Needless to say, i'm not very happy.

Anyways, that's my rant for today. I have a house in NH without internet where I stay for the summer so that's why i haven't been around. I just came down today to do some things, thank god I was near the garage and not on the highway when it happened. That would not have been fun.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

-Adam

Alright, here's the scoop:

My mechanic called me this morning, and said it was one of the brackets that snapped off, but get this, It was one of the parts they replaced, but the stupid guys didn't bolt the thing on, so it was just hanging there the whole time. He said it was just a matter of time before it broke.

So anyways, he quoted it at $400.00, which my dad wasn't too happy about. But he said, our dealership replaced it incorrectly at the time, so they should pay for it all. The only thing that sucks is that the dealership is in Framingham, which is like 45 minutes away. And they're all a bunch of complete morons down there. Now i have no idea when i'm getting my car back, and I gotta work tommorrow in NH.

Stupid stupid dealership. You know, when my engine went, I figured that it was just something that was bound to happen with that problem. But the dealer replaced all those parts, but didn't bolt it on. I mean they put the stupid thing on, but didn't have hte common sense to attach it to something???? I'm just starting to get really fed up with these ignorant bastards.

I'd be at the dealer that fucked up and demanding a refund! Or at least have them pay for it even if another dealer does the work. Time to call DC customer service me thinks.

if it is the power steering and altenator.. you should be able to get a 45 minute drive out of it to the other dealer. just charge your battery... and turn ALL electronics off. drive it to the dealer, and say "ya'll done fucked up. now FIX YOUR DAMN PROBLEM".

The water pump.. which is the primary cause for all 2.7L engines going south (in my mind) is driven off the Timing chain.. so that will still keep the engine cool.

Don't drive it...call the dealer...make them tow it or pay for a tow. It is their fault they should be responsible for getting the car there.

You know I would, but it's through mostly backroads, and without power steering it wouldn't be too fun.

That's what we're doing. And then probably selling the car. My dad is pretty fed up with everything that we've had problems, plus if they can't figure out to put on one bolt, well you know...

But it really doesn't matter to me anyways, cause I have to give the car up come september either way, (college) my brother will get to drive a new set of wheels around. Oh well.
