Smile My First Trip to the Drag Strip!

Hey guys,

I went to New Engalnd Dragway the other day for their street night. All stock cars, but most had major mods.. and even a few with nitro!

I have a 01' R/T Motorsports... with no mods except for a K&N filter. I had never drag raced before, but it was so much fun.

My best 1/4 mile time was 15.917 at 90.18 mph.
I used the autostick and was just shifting to 3rd at the line.
Oh yeah, I got a .553 reaction time on one run!

Can anybody suggest some minor mods to shave some time off.
I don't have alot of money to sink into an intake and exhaust right now, but hopefully soon.

Take out the spare tire, backseats, passenger seat, big-ass stereo system and try to get there with only a gal in the tank.

but make sure the gal weighs less than 100lbs...

Hmm. Nice, and it makes sense, take out anything that weighs anything.. You think he could try racing without the doors?

I agree on taking out the seats, spare, etc...
I took out the spare and, of course, all the junk in my trunk.

But one thing I won't agree on is having one gallon in the tank.

I have noticed on numerous occassions that decrease in overall power when I am running out of gas. My friend explained that this is due to a lack of pressure on the fuel pump.

I went with a 1/4 tank (4.25 gallons), but I may try to go down a little more next time.

90mph, you are obviously making good power.
Concentrate on the 60' time if your goal is et.
