Just joined, have some questions

Hello all, I'm seriously thinking of owning a first generation Intrepid with a 3.5L. I was wondering what the Stock HP is of the older 3.5L 24 valve engine is, Also was wondering if I could modify the exhaust to make it true dual.

Welcome Scotty - there are a gazillion threads/replies on all of those subjects. Go to the top and look for the "search", then enter a subject. Stand back because you'll be flooded with threads. Lots-o-reading.

Scotty, the 3.5 horsepower was 214-215 (depending on the year).

Sure you can make the first gen a true dual. You can do anything as long as you have enough money.

Seriously though , I have no idea what that would cost or entail. I've thought about it as a future mod and there is enough room for a muffler under the right side of the car. What might give you trouble is the fuel filler tube, it's not too low but you would still have a hot exhaust pipe passing by it. My suggestion for that would be heat shield.

That sounds like a good idea.
Also, if you use the search function on the site you can easily find other people who have made dual exhaust. I think there is at least one person who has made a true dual exhaust.
