98 Intrepid ES 3.2L keeps stalling

Greetings and Salutations;

My 98 Intrepid ES, 3.2L (approx. 95K kms) keeps stalling on me after I have driven it any distance over 30-35 kms. It runs like a top when just going short distances, but anytime I take it for a trip over the 35 km range, it starts to shudder and loses power. Even if I try to give it more gas, it chuggs along and then stalls. It feels like its just not getting any gas or something. The only thing that registers in the computer is "Random Misfire". Is this a sensor problem? Computer problem?.... Neither my mechanic or the Chrysler mechanic seems to know what it is before I spend all my cash in a trial by elimination.

Help....Thanks..

Are all your filters and everything new? All your maintenance up to date? It's not overheating is it?

What do your engine codes say?

I'd hazzard a guess and say it's probably your camshaft or crankshaft sensors.

good question

The only code that keeps coming up is the 'Random Misfire'. Is the sensor problem a normal thing for the 3.2L engines? It has been suggested that it may be the EGR valve, or the sensor problems. Would it be the Computer itself? Has anyone had this problem or something very similar before?
Really need to get this fixed. I can't do any driving over 35kms and its either get it fixed or trade this sucker in..

Thanks.
