Can't take it Anymore!!

the JERKY transmission is driving me nuts ...i only have 55,000 km and have done all the regular services including transmission fluid change. I'm sorry to say it's time to look for a better car. i am upset beacuse i really loved my Trep.. I will be hitting the Auto-Mall this weekend, and NOT stopping by the Chysler/Dodge Dealership..

My transmission is far from JERKY, in fact it's so smooth I often wish it hard firmer shifts which would extend the life of the clutches.

Try something with a manual transmission.

just dropped my pan at 134k and refilled with 7 quarts of ATF 3+... shifted okay before, but very smooth now. I was only 23k into the 30k service interval. Maybe you just need to replace the fluid.

Tranny flush, and ATF +4 Type 9602. Try that.

Exactly. If you have fresh ATF 3/4 fluid your shifts should be smooth.

If I'm not mistaken, 2G treps REQUIRE only ATF+4 fluid. ATF3 is known to cause exactly the kind of problems you are having.

i had the Dealer do the flush so i assumed they used the correct one. Maybe i will get it done a gai and make sure they use the correct fluid.
i notice a couple of differnt fluid suggestions. should it be ATF +4 Type 9602 or ATF 3+... ???

pull the dipstick out. the fluid should look nice and pinkish redish....not like dextron...

perhaps they used the wrong fluid by mistake or to get a long time return customer...
