OTIS Question

Will this harness work on a 1998 concorde: PIC in photo gallery
Also, what is the A-pillar that I have to remove? And also is it neccesary to use a crimper on the wires, can you just use electrical tape?

I was considering this OTIS:Here

The harness is only half there , you dont have the plug that goes into the fuse panel ( you need this plug). That console will work . An A-pillar is the trim cover that is on the drivers side front windsheild . you have to take it off to run the wire down to the plug in the fuse panel . NO do not just tape the wires , you can crimp them but the best way would be to solder the wires then shrink wrap then ( thats how we do it at the plant ) , you can get a half decent solder gun for a few $$ at radio shack .

thats a good question . thats the only problem when you buy some Otis units on Ebay , they dont come with all the wires you need. Without this plug , you have avery nice paperweight .

Or, you could try what I did when I hooked up my OTIS. I bought crimping tubes, crimped down the portion of the tube that plugs into the connectors at the fuse panel so that they would fit snugly, soldered in the wire that runs up to the OTIS, and put heat shrink wrapping over the crimping tube. If you do this, then you will have to pull the wires out of the connector block and do this to them as well, because the crimping tubing will not fit into the connector block. Check out this for the OTIS installation and my contribution at the bottom of the page. I can post some pictures if my description above is not clear.

By the way, don't give up on OTIS! It takes some work to connect the wires but it is worth it.

I have a complete harness that YB did up for me a few months ago...nice plug-n-play setup... It has all the plugs you need. Let me know if you're interested... I'll let it go for the same amount I paid for it.
