Question RemoteStart/Alarm Any Good??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...VIClosedWinner

Of course I'd have to pay to have it installed (no way do i even want to attempt a remote start install) but for $110 with 2 Color LCD remotes and all kinds of features...thin i should pick it up or hold out for maybe a $350 dollar system like the viper or DEI. Knowledge experience or just opinions...let me know.

Just had a friend install a remote starter for me. I paid him $100 for it and all the associated little wiring and bits, plus a case of beer to have him install it (he used to work in a car audio shop). All I can say is, I really wish I'd done this a lot sooner. It's going to be soooo nice ot come out to a nice warm car instead of having to babysit it for half an hour while the ice melts off!

One thing I can say is, this install was waaaaaaay more complicated than anything I would have been able to do. He's a pro, and it took him over 2 and a half hours to install it, plus another hour or so before that to get the starter wired up with the appropriate relays, etc. This would have taken me days, at least. He also had to use his tester to figure out the right wire in a few cases, even though he had the tech sheet for the car. Maybe it'll be different with the one you get, but this install was NOT easy.

Damn those remotes look an awful lot like another brand I saw recently, but I don't remember what it was. I wasn't very familiar with it. I've never heard of Phoenix Digital but if it's just a relable of another companies alarm it may be OK...

4500xr starter with alarms

This model offers everything the 3500 does and also provides you with the protection of an advanced vehicle security system. This includes such features as a deafening Super Loud 6 Tone Siren to warn even the boldest of thieves. There is a Dual Stage Impact Sensor to detect tampering, a Starter Disable Protection System to prevent vehicle theft, plus much, much more!

LIES....ALL LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Either AST is shit, or someone at crash459's shop is up to no good. In either case, AST's customer service isn't the best (ask crash), and DEI is well known for thier alarms.

BTW, the 3000ft is measured on a good day, in a LARGE open field, with no buildings, houses, trees, or grass.

Thats kind of what i was thinkin...it has all the features of a "good" one but is the a "cheesy" model with little range. At that price how can i resist but i dont want to spend 100$ and later on because it sux spend 500$ on a good one....I might just hold off.

Personally, I would hold off and get a DEI, or pay the same for a quality one with a few less features.

I also have the Clifford Matrix III. I love it. Where and how much did your window relays cost intrepidroll1n20s?

I got remote start + keyless entry for $290 installed at a shop in Spokane WA, with horn beep confirmation added. Would have been another $30 for parking light flash, and $30 for trunk release. I use my trunk for garbage and such so I didnt care.

Its a CrimeStopper II system with a switch on the remote to start two cars. If you have just one car with the system, then its still handy off switch so you dont accidentally start it with the keys in your pocket.

Makes a WORLD of difference in the winter and summer.
