Q: 1st gen v.s. 2nd gen 3.5 fuel rails

Are they the same design? Can I use a 2nd gen fuel rail on a first gen?

99.9% chance no, tow pretty much different engines, with the exception that they bolt to the same tranny.

1G fuel rail has an inlet on one end, and a pressure regulator/return feed on the other end.

2G fuel rails have ONLY an inled (they are a returnless system.)

if you were to try to goto the 2G rails.. you would have to put a 2G fuel pump/sending unit in the gas tank...........
(as it has the pressure regulator in it insted)

I'm not exactly sure why you quoted me. I was talking about the engines. Not the rails.

I didn't even know we had a return line. That kind of makes things easier for fuel upgrades.
