3.5 in a Kit Car??????

Is there a transmission that would allow me to put a 3.5 into a Lotus Super 7?
I know about the Prowler transaxle but I just don't like it. I would rather have a normal transmission configuration for RWD.

I do think that a stock 3.5 will take a 1500 pound Super 7 for one hell of a ride!

Only thing that comes to mind is the Audi ZFs. But they aren't rwd. I would say that the prowler setup is your best option.

You might want to check into the 42rle (I think that's the model) it's used in the liberty 2wd and TJ.

A T-5 or AOD won't bolt up to a 3.5....completely different animals there.

you can make a bell housing adapter to fit a 727 Auto or a 904 auto because they are using them in Mexico behind 3.5L in front engine rails. But if you want a Stick(Manual) it will probably cost you $400-$600 for a custom flywheel. and the crank would need drilled for a pilot bearing and probably other things that I am not thinking of.

Am I going to build it?

Now I don't know. The lack of a transmission at a reasonable cost has me stumped.
Are they going to use this engine next year in the RWD format?
If so there should be a MB trani. I would guess a 5 speed auto.

That would work just fine.

Um, yeah, I guess they would be, as there won't be any FWD tranny available... Or is there?

you may want to try a 3.5 of a different sort... an Oldsmobile "Shorstar" 3.5 V6 out of an Intrigue or Aurora

there are quite a few of these being adapted into kit cars, dune buggies and Fieros, so there must be plenty of adaptation methods currently available.
