Good Ole' Chrysler Withstands 2 Accidents Today!

Good Ole' Chrysler Withstands 2 Accidents Today!

With the heavy snow we've been getting.. I was heading to the store when the snow first started here in CT around 3:00pm. My mother was in passenger seat.. traffic was @ a crawl going on to highway, so I decided to take back roads around.. Was headed down the hill nice & slow, with a Ford Expedition in front of me. We were going down the hill when all of a sudden the expedition went sideways sliding down it.... I then seen a Ford Windstar sitting @ the light.. the car was in 1st gear, going about 5MPH when my car just began sliding out down straight for the van! I turned left was going to go on other side of the road and blow through the light, but I was sadly mistaken when cars began coming up... I swerved to the right, but there was a stone wall I would have slammed into, so I had no other choice but to run into the van.. and BAAAM! :dozeoff: was bracing for airbags to pop out, as I must have hit her about 10MPH... thank God they didn't.. got out.. van was fine, looked @ mine quick and to my suprise, as I was expecting the worst, only damage was drivers side fog light, and bumper pushed in!! The lady was in aww that her van had no damage & the force I hit her @ with my damage.. Cop pulls up, says "we're trying to get public works down to sand this hill.. it's all ice".. I'm like DUH.. really! cop wanted us to file report, I didn't want this to go to my insurance company, so I basically talked the lady out of it... so on we go.. stopped @ auto store, got winter blades, as I swear by them... (keeps snow off w/ rubber boot).. looked @ car & fog light, bumper is popped back out! only minor scratch, that you can barely see now. so I was VERY happy @ that point.. all's I needed to fix now is the already broken POS headlight bracket being held on my 1 screw.. managed to do the errands, on the 2 hour way home with the traffic, I was turning onto main rd from side st.. when I see this 95+ Mercury Cougar coming @ me as she was turning into st.. I gunned it, but almost went into oncoming traffic.. so I stopped.. & BAAM again.. NO DAMAGE! God was with me today.. I'll tell ya... something with Fords hitting me today.. scary! :mg: Anyway.. sorry for the long post, just wanted to share INTREPIDS are great in accidents! already had one with this car, with a 40MPH inpact by an as*hole.. (now still attempting to sue me.. search for post.. it was 2 years ago) not that any accident is great.. u know what I mean.. LET IT SNOW, SO I HAVE NO WORK TOMORROW!

Good to hear you and the Trep are ok. I haven't had a reason to venture out in it yet and with finals to study for I don't think I'll have a reason to go out till tomarrow night when I can get into a movie free with my student ID.

I had an accident this summer with my Trep, incidentally the day before I had to drive 5 hours to go to my college orientation. I was waiting to cross this bad intersection which desperatly, needs stoplight, when I got a break in the 6:00p rush hour traffic. A gold lumina was coming from the right but just coming into view over a slight hill.

So with decent acceleration I entered the intersection. Just as my b-pillar finished crossing the intersection I see that this car is just about 10 feet away from me. I pressed the pedal as far as it would go but within a two seconds I hear a screach and bang.

To my amazment my car barly shook. Anyway, the only damage to my car was a shredded aluminum bumper insert and bumper.
The lumina's bumper, left fender, hood, and left headlight were damaged; just as mine would have been if the situation were reversed.

Don't mean to take over your thread, thought it was a good time to swap minor accident stories, once again glad to hear your ok.

Glad to hear your alright. Being that I live in NYC, I know what its like with snow and crazy drivers (especially SUVs). So the majority of the time if I can I just stay home until the plows and salt spreaders can do their job (even though the salt is murder on my car. Yeah Joe we might have snow here up north but we certainly don't worry about hurricaines the way you guys do!!!

From my experience people in the south are shitty/crazyier drivers so it balances out. I just have to laugh every year the first time its icy and on the way to school you can see all the idiots who have never driven on bad roads before.

Thanks guys.. appreciate the reply's of concern.. My shitty job was open all day today.. until most of us just got up & said we were leaving.. of course it was 2 late.. almost all of us had to get push/help each other push out of the parking spaces... I got stuck on my street in a 2 ft snow drift in the middle of my street! I had to have my father push the car the rest of the way into the driveway.. unreal! Prob have no more tread on my front tires, as all's I smelt was rubber burning.. oh well.. good ole' Nor' Easter!
