why i hate dc

So i finally got time to fix my "cracked injector" only to find out that only the o rings were damaged, as expected. I call DC to explain what happened, and that the dealer falsly diagnosed my problem. She said that it was a closed case and there was nothing that she could do. I asked if i could send in the deteriorated rings, and she denied any request for compensation. Furthermore, she told me that the injector rings arent in the recal.... and to top it all off, she said that once the recal is done it won't be done again? I explained that it was DC's responsibility for 10 years since the last time it was done, and then instead of admiting it, she tried to justify what was wrong with the injector rings by saying that 139000 miles on the car meant I have to pay for faulty recal parts.

Everything is circular with car repairs. Dealership says call DC, DC says call dealer, but both agree that they can't help you.

fuck DC, and my local dealership

Wrong on both accounts. DC gets away with BRACING the outlet fuel rail during recall work if no fuel leak is evident. If a leak does appear (which happened on my ride), they are then obligated to REPLACE the outlet fuel rail AND upper and lower injector O-RINGS on the outlet (passenger) side injectors. Here is a direct quote from the www.nhtsa.gov site: "VEHICLES SHOWING FUEL LEAKAGE ON THE OUTLET FUEL RAIL MUST HAVE THE OUTLET RAIL REPLACED WHICH INCLUDES CHANGING THE UPPER AND LOWER INJECTOR O-RINGS."

Sounds like you need to learn em and threaten to sick the feds on em, or find a dealer that is more knowledgeable. Best of luck.

And you think DC is the only car company out there like that? ALL car companies have similar complaints.

Not entirely true about all companies. GM, Acura and some others have gone out of their way to keep their clients happy. Sure, they still have some complaints, but they try, rather than the old school mentality of "screw the customer"

tell that to the legions of late model chevy truck owners whose engines click and clack from piston slap, which chevy swears is normal. tell it to the same owners whose engines gulp down a quart of oil every 3000 miles and chevy again says it's normal. i'll bet they'd beg to differ that GM goes out of its way to keep the customer satisfied.

GM blows...my boss owns an 02 escalade which has the infamous piston slap. They say its normal. ANy engine tech will tell you that piston slap is bad and shouldn't be happening. GM isn't doing didly squat about the problem.

Interesting. The two Dodge dealers that I frequent (depending on which side of the state I'm on) HAVE gone out of their way to make me happy.

It really does depend on the dealer more than the company. We have our dogde dealer bitch whipped because we spend so much money there.
