Lightbulb Intrepid's Replacement In 05

It's sad to know that the production of the Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler Concorde, and Chrysler 300M have offically discontinued. But what will be replacing the Intrepid and Concorde in 2005?

We already know that there will be a 2005 Dodge Magnum and 2005 Chrysler 300 (replacing the 300M). I don't really think that Magnum is a replacement. Would it be considered an addition??

I'm hoping for a 2005/06 Dodge Charger. Motor Trend reported that Dodge will produce the Charger in 06 in place of the Intrepid, and Chrysler will produce the Airflite in place of the Concorde in 05. Their website reads as follows:

"2006 Dodge Charger: Rear-drive sedan will replace the cab-forward Intrepid. The Charger is expected to offer 3.7L V-6 and 4.7L V-8 engine option, with the Charger R/T featuring the 5.7L Hemi V-8."

"2005 Chrysler Airflite: Large, luxury sedan shares the rear-drive chassis with the 300C but wears 1950s-inspired styling."

I hope Motor Trend is right. The Chrager and Airflite concepts look amazing and, in my opinion, would be the perfect replacements, especially with a HEMI. Why haven't we heard anything about these two models from DaimlerChrysler??

Does anyone have any more information on the Charger and/or Airflite?? Please let us know.

Yes, this is true. I heard the same thing from my dealership this past Saturday. Rear wheel drive and more power with the option of a HEMI engine.

It'd be great if someone could find some pics on the charger. One of my friends had one and it hauled ass. Wonder if it will be auto or manual..

That's not the rumored up coming Charger, that's the 99 concept. From what I understand the 06 model will be quite different then the concept.

I heard the same... We could only wish and hope that they change their minds and go with this design... But don't hold your breath... Look what they did to the Crossfire!

The production Crossfire looks almost exactly the same as the concept.

Look at what they did to the 300N convertible concept. It looked awesome, got a lot of excitement - and completely changed it. I do like the 300C (will probably be my next purchase in the spring) - but it is nothing like the concept 300N.

Well, I have an idea as to why Chrysler is keeping their cars under such tight wraps.

TheMysteryCar

If any of you have seen this ad, you'll know exacty what car this is (if you don't, where have you been lately).

Anyways, I was just thinking that I like the Dodge Magnum R/T. I just hope it comes in 5-sp (or 6-sp). Is it considered an LX car?
