Rust removal

I need to get rust out of my engine compartment apparently the previous owner had an overheating problem and didn't rinse and dry the area, I am now stuck with some surface rust that I want to get rid of. Any ideas aside from painting?

If it's stained from a rusty radiator spraying around in the engine compartment try some grease cutting, or soapy mixture, brush it on, scrub and rinse.
This will leave everything very dry. If you live in the snowbelt lay on some oil afterwards. Spray on WD40 or something.
Speaking of WD40, that's also a great stain remover/cleaner.

WD40 did the trick (got to get another can). Looks 100% better. Anybody know where I could get some blue plug wires from? By the time I'm finished I'll with this ride I'll be IOM (or COM as in Concorde).
