Raybestos emailed me back

My email:
RCP96009 Chrysler 42LE (A606) 90-UP Kevlar High Energy Clutches

Do you still produce these?

Thier responce:
Yes we do. We are the OEM supplier. There clutches were also integrated into
the new rear wheel drive transmission in the Jeep.

The RCP96-009 is the module containing all the clutches to rebuild one
transmission. We also released a module, RCP96-143, which contains only high
energy clutches. This is for the Jeep with the 42RLE transmission. It will
also work in the Dodge front wheel drive where an all high energy product
package is desired.

Thanks for your inquiry. Try our web site at www.raybestospowertrain.com .

Technically, Dana is the OEM supplier. But, since Raybestos is still part of Dana (for the time being), I guess that is an accurate statement.

So, you have some planned mod, or just replacing the clutch facing?

Certified is still around? I must have a complete misunderstanding of that brand name.

I always thought Certified was bought out by Bendix, but I never really did dig into that part of the company history (it's a very long history).

Well, I don't know too much about how good or bad Certified is. But, I did get some clarification.

Certified was bought by Allied-Signal some years ago (15 or so). Allied-Signal than got rid of Certified and the company Certified was no more. Allied-Signal later became Bendix (to simplify it).

The brand name Certified was sold to another company in Canada. So, basically, what you have there is the brand name Certified and not the original Certified company.

A decade or so ago Certified was pretty good. Now, I have no idea.

Good price regardless though.

I asked my boss since he was originally from Certified.
